Peggy Ann Arbaugh

Peggy Ann Arbaugh, 65, of Catonsville passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Gilchrist Hospice.  Born May 7, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. Arbaugh, Sr. and Frances Parkinson Arbaugh. 

She is survived by sister Terry Lee Miller and husband Raymond of North Carolina and by brother Charles E. Arbaugh, Jr. and wife Stephanie and daughters Katie, Caroline and Lily of Elkridge, Maryland.  Peggy is also survived by a host of wonderful friends and extended family who loved her very much

Peggy graduated from Eastern High School in Baltimore and later with a Bachelor of Science, Interior Design from Drexel University.  She held certificates in Interior Design and with the National Council for Interior Design Qualification.  She was a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), serving on their Board of Directors for ten years and as Chapter President from 1996 - 1997. In 1995 she received the ASID Renaissance Award, and in 1996, the ASID Presidential Award.   Peggy had more than 40 years of experience in the fields of interior design, master planning, space planning and programming, and project management.   She applied those skills to governmental, institutional, industrial, interior and commercial, healthcare and senior living facilities.

In 2001 Peggy won the Silver Award for Large Assisted-Living Housing for the design of Maple Ridge product line for Marriott: National Association of Home Builders, National Council on Senior Housing.

From 2001 to 2002 she was the National Spokesperson for the ASID Aging in Place CEO Course.

Peggy's memberships included:  the Executive Women's Network; the Healthcare Design Specialty Network where she served as National Chairperson from 1997 - 1998; the Maryland Council of Design Professionals where she served on the Board of Directors and on the Design Professionals Task Force which was convened by the State of Maryland Economic and Environmental Affairs Committee; and West Baltimore United Methodist Church.

She made a mean crab dip.

A celebration of Peggy's life will be held at Jennings Café, 808 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
