Reverend Walter Morris "Wally" Bosman, Jr., 67, of Westminster, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 2, 2018. Born February 9, 1951 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Walter Morris "Lefty" Bosman, Sr. and Evelyn M. Jones. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Brenda Shilling Bosman.
Walter was a pastor for the Baltimore Washington Conference of the Methodist Church. He served as Pastor for Uniontown UMC, Middleburg UMC and Salem UMC. He was a member of Deer Park UMC.
"Wally" was blessed with many talents. He was an accomplished musician, singer, songwriter, and avid Civil War reenactor. In 2000 he released his studio recorded CD, titled “He Did It All”, which included 9 Christian songs that he composed and performed, plus the cherished hymn Amazing Grace written by John Newton. His family and friends enjoyed his gifted sense of humor and spontaneous wit. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.
He is survived by his beloved son Corporal Alexander Patrick Bosman,USMC and siblings Roxanne Haynie, June O’Meara, and David Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by step-mother Florence Johnson Bosman, and siblings Robert Johnson, Kathleen Pettit, Beverly Cordle and Rose Kelly.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 10 to 11 A.M. at Deer Park United Methodist Church, 2205 Sykesville Road, Westminster, MD 21157. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11 A.M. with his Pastor Rev. John Dean officiating. Interment will be at Deer Park Cemetery immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Deer Park United Methodist Church, 2205 Sykesville Road, Westminster, MD 21157.
