Robert Paul Kloss, 85, of Westminster, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born June 20, 1932 in Sharon, PA, he was the son of the late Verna M. (Warner) Kloss and Delmar E. Kloss. He was the husband of the late Mary E. Kloss.
Before retiring he worked 28 years as a Science Teacher in Baltimore County. He had 60 credits beyond a Master’s Degree and was also a graduate of Lincoln Welding School. He was a veteran of the Air Force where he played trumpet in the band.
He was a member of the Reisterstown American Legion, former member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ and served as a Carroll County Court Commissioner for 3 years. He enjoyed music, playing bingo, magic, shooting guns, watching college football and basketball, and playing the pedal steel guitar in the band; Purple Haze.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law; Tracy and Rosa Kloss and Randy and Debbie Kloss, all of Westminster; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Shirley Kloss of New Oxford, PA; grandchildren Christopher Kloss, Jennifer Kloss, Amy Kloss-Manning, Kelly Knight and Brett Haines. Also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by grandchildren Sandra Cheatham and Jonathan Haines.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
