Tiffany Henning Obituary

Tiffany Renee Henning, 34, of Westminster Md, passed away peacefully in the early morning on Saturday, August 3rd, 2019 at home surrounded by family and friends. Tiffany continued to battle breast cancer and never gave up the fight. She is an inspiration to all those who knew her.

Tiffany is survived by her father, Larry Henning, mother, Debbie Henning, sister and brother-in-law, Melanie Henning-Ondrejko and Marc Ondrejko, brother, Kyle Henning, and niece, Lily Henning. Tiffany’s family was a huge part of her life. She was always excited for family vacations, game nights, swimming, or just hanging out.

Tiffany had many accomplishments in her life. She graduated from Francis Scott Key High School in 2003. She graduated from Elizabethtown College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She got her Master of Science in Mathematics Education from Hood College in 2016. She taught 7th grade mathematics at Sykesville Middle school for 10 years. Tiffany loved teaching and found a sense of joy with her students.

Tiffany interests include music, gaming, crafts, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Music was a big part of Tiffany’s life. Tiffany played many different instruments including piano, clarinet, french horn, hand bells, and drums. She always had several new games for her friends and family to play. She attended game nights every week and would always bring home new, complex, and expensive games. She also enjoyed making a variety of crafts which include cross stitch, sewing, canning, and making gifts for family and friends. Tiffany loved to travel. She was able to visit four continents (North America, South America, Europe, and Africa) and 40 states.  She was the best listener and would always be the go-to for any family or friend.

In 2016 she was diagnosed with Triple Negative Metaplastic Breast Carcinoma. Tiffany always kept a positive upbeat attitude. She was able to lift the spirits of everyone in the treatment centers and was asked to be the keynote survivor speaker at the 2017 Pink Fling fundraiser. After the Pink Fling fundraiser, Tiffany wanted to do more. In collaboration with her sister and mother, they created A Sisters Promise for Hope in order to raise money and awareness to fund research for others with her specific diagnosis.

Tiffany’s faith was her foundation throughout her life. She was raised with a strong belief in God and Jesus Christ as our Savior. Tiffany believes in Heaven and those that have left us are waiting there for us to be reunited. On the day Tiffany left us, the reading from the daily devotional read, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
