Alvin Lounds Burns, 83, of Wellsville, PA., died on July 29, 2026 at home. Born May 23, 1943 in Charleston, WV., he was the son of the late Burke Burns and Letha “Dorothy” Ritchie Burns. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Linda Sue Burns.
He was an elevator mechanic. Alvin enjoyed working on cars, remodeling, wood working, western films and flowers. He loved his family deeply.
Besides his wife he is survived by his two sons Paul A. Burns (Rita) of Wellsville, PA., and Steven C. Burns (Kim) of Phoenix, AZ; 5 grandchildren Jessica Fisher, Tyler Burns, Allyssa LaFever, Rhianna Burns and Dylan Harrison; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Linda Gilbert of Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 9 siblings William Burns, Earl Burns, Burke “Bob” Jr. Burns, Bobby Burns, Charles Burns, James Burns, Orville Burns, Brenda Bess and Claude Burns.
The family will receive friends and family from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, MD. Funeral services will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the funeral home.
