Anna Larue Haines Bond, 94, of Hanover, PA, formally of Westminster, MD died on Sunday, April 27, 2025 peacefully at her residence at Homewood Living at Plum Creek. Born on February 13, 1931 in Tannery, MD she was the daughter of the late Charles L. (Mutt) and Mary A. Hobgood Haines of Westminster, MD.

She is survived by her two children, daughter Brenda K. Shelton of Hanover, PA and son Gary R. Bond and wife Debbie of Hanover, PA, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and her sister Catherine Luers of Westminster, MD. She was predeceased by her husband, J. Kenneth Bond to whom celebrated over 60 years of marriage, sisters Laura Sumrell, Stella Chester, Mary Ellen Myers, Virginia Gill, and brothers Edward L. Haines and Robert L. Haines.

She was a 1948 graduate of Westminster High School. She worked in the school cafeteria when her children attended there, and The Carroll County Times. Later she was a Doctor’s Assistant for Dr. John E. Steers of Carroll Surgical for 28 years. After her retirement, she and her husband travelled the U.S. in their motorhome. They camped in 48 out of the 50 states, 7 of the 10 Canadian Provinces and Mexico. They also toured Hawaii, Alaska, Australia, New Zealand, Labrador, Newfoundland and the Panama Canal Zone. She was an avid Baltimore Orioles Fan.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, MD 21157. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg, MD.
