Betty Jean Carter, 82, of Westminster, died Thursday, June 23, 2022, at BridgingLife Dove House with her loving family by her side. Born July 12, 1939 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Doris (Keller) Bosley and William Bosley and mother to the late Patricia Hawkins. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Joseph Carter, Sr.
She worked at Telemecanique and took an early retirement when the company moved out of state. She enjoyed gardening, watching old movies and spending time with her family.
Besides her husband she is survived by a son Joseph Carter, Jr. of Glenville, PA; brothers and sisters-in-law William and Barbara Bosley of Dundalk; John and Jean Bosley of Lancaster, PA and James Bosley of Westminster, grandchildren Clarence Hawkins Jr. of Westminster, Maleah Wess of New Windsor, Brittany Engelmeier of South Carolina and Joseph Carter III of Westminster and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by brothers Carroll Bosley, Milton Bosley and sisters Genevieve Gibbs, Audrey Johnston and Barbara Childress.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville.
