Bonnie Hinkhaus

Bonnie “Bon Bon Samich” Hinkhaus, 68, of Westminster, died peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  Born May 31, 1954 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy D. (Baxter) Hinkhaus and William H. Hinkhaus, Jr.

She worked as a day care provider and enjoyed caring for children.  She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed Bingo, old TV shows, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by children Vanessa Morris (Keith) of Hampstead; Tony Ruiz (Aly) of Hampstead; and Sabrina Harris of Manchester; brothers Hayward F. “Bud” Hinkhaus (Linda), William R. Hinkhaus (Karen), David W. Hinkhaus (Beth) and Michael E. Hinkhaus (Bonnie), grandchildren Jourdan Brightful (Kile), Marquis Morris, Vera Ruiz, Braelynn, Jameson and Liam Harris, great-grandchildren Kiah and Aria Brightful.  Also survived by companion Cindy Harris and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by former husband Pedro Ruiz Rodriguez and a brother Robert J. Hinkhaus, Sr.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Adams officiating.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tony Ruiz at 4657 Marksman Ct., Hampstead, MD 21074 to help with funeral expenses.

The family would like to thank BridgingLife Hospice, nurse Corrine and nurse aide Chyna for the care they provided to Bonnie and special thanks to Ruth Edwards and all of her friends at Timber Ridge.  Because of Ruth, Bonnie was able to pass the way she wanted to at home.
