Buenaventurada Afable Capole Obituary

Buenaventurada “Benny” Afable Capole, 96, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at her daughter’s home in Westminster, MD. Born July 14, 1928 in Manila, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Felicidad (Janolino) Afable and Florentino Afable. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Cirilo PanganibanCapole.

Benny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a feisty spirit and contagious love of life,always making others laugh and enticingthem to dance. She found joy in cooking for her loved ones and finding bargains and friends in shopping malls. She was a world traveler in her youth and emigrated from the Philippines to the United States with her husband and two oldest daughters in 1968.

She is survived by her daughters Benilda McAuliffe (late son-in-law Sean McAuliffe), Clarinda CapoleGiddings (son-in-law William Giddings, Jr.) and Dorinda Capole (son-in-law Ian Jones), grandchildren Jeremy, Jesse (and family), Hailey and Isabella (father InBum Chung) and great-grandson Jace. Benny is the seventh of nine children, including the late Natalia Alip, Pilar Kabiling, CrispinaTayag, Dominador Afable, ProcoloAfable, Rita Kirkpatrick, and LeoncioAfable. She is survived by her youngest sibling Victoria Severin.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, MD 21157. A reception will follow the service.
