Catherine (aka Katie or MomMom) Fringer, 96, of Westminster, passed away from natural causes at the Dove Hospice House in Westminster, on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. Born October 19, 1924 in Uniontown, she was the daughter of the late Ardell W. Robertson and Mabel Haines Robertson. She was the loving wife and devoted widow of the late Adam Roy Fringer, Jr. They celebrated their 67th anniversary prior to his death in 2008.
Katie retired years ago as a presser from what is now English American Tailoring of Westminster. Over the years she “paid it forward” many times over by caring for dying friends and relatives. She was known for her easy-going personality, her infectious smile, and was truly an angel to many. She was also an active member of the Westminster Moose Lodge #897, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #2226 of Littlestown, PA, as well as the Pynthian Sisters of Westminster.
She is survived by her children June Baker and her husband Raymond, Joyce Mann, Ted Fringer and his wife Sue, all of Westminster, Janice and her husband Ken Coffey of Ninety-Six, South Carolina. She was blessed with many grandchildren, great-granchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. The second of ten children, she is survived by her brother Maurice Robertson and his wife Sue of Westminster.
She was predeceased by her children Roy Fringer, Kenneth Fringer and Terry Fringer; siblings Ezra Robertson, Delmar Robertson, Melvin Robertson, Helen Bankert, Paul Robertson, Walter Robertson, Anna Mae Fringer and Ray Robertson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 10 to 12 noon at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, MD 21157, funeral services will begin at 12 noon, with Rev. Dr. Marty Kuchma officiating. Interment will follow at Baust Church Cemetery of Tyrone.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations be made in Katie’s name to the Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
