Catherine Elaine Louthian, 83, of Westminster, MD and beloved wife of the late James Donald Louthian, departed from her earthly home to join the Lord on Sunday, August 11, 2024.   Born on New Year’s Day 1941, she was the daughter of the late Marie (Becker) Greenholtz and Richard Greenholtz of Westminster, MD. 

Catherine expressed a boundless love for others and was a bundle of energy who tirelessly donated much of her time to Hugs & Stitches of the Carroll County Arts Council, which benefited many local charities as well as friends and family.   Best known as an avid shutter bug, expert scrapbooker, and crocheting enthusiast, she had won the hearts of those she captured on film and shared in scrapbooks to those who benefitted from the warmth of her lovingly crocheted blankets, hats, and scarves.  

Catherine graduated from Westminster High School and went on to retire from Black & Decker.  She was a member of the Liberty Church of Maryland and a faithful follower of Jesus.   The Lord blessed Catherine with an adventurous spirit.  She was game for exploring and always enjoyed sharing stories of her many travels throughout the years.  Those stories will continue on in her beautifully created scrapbooks which document every year as far back as the 90’s and capture the spirit of the moment for family and friends to enjoy for many years to come.

She is survived by her children: James “Jim” Louthian and late wife, Christa, of Hanover, PA; John Louthian and wife, Tina, of Hanover, PA; Rick Louthian and wife, Jennifer, of Winston-Salem, NC; Joe Louthian of Westminster, MD; and Lori Ann Johnson and Husband, David, of Hanover, PA; 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main Street, Westminster, MD.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Joe Ready officiating.  Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover, PA.
