Catherine (Flanigan) Morningstar, better known as Katie, 96, of Taneytown, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2022. Born January 11, 1926 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Flanigan.
She graduated from Seton High School and worked for the C & P Telephone Co. She later became her husband’s receptionist and bookkeeper.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Morningstar in 2012 and son Doug Morningstar.
She is survived by daughters Debbie Mahon of Taneytown and Wendy Sullivan, loving grandson Ryan Mahon of Maple Shade, NJ.
Katie lived with her daughter Debbie until she had a compound femur fracture and went to live at St. Joseph Place where she became a resident. She enjoyed visiting bed ridden patients, karaoke and bingo and was a member of the Shady Ladies. She loved chocolate, lipstick and Bailey’s. Katie enjoyed baking and always had something sweet to eat, if you stopped by to visit.
The family would like to thank Sister Eleanore Shay and all the employees of St. Joseph’s Place. Katie had a kind soul.
Services will be private.
