Catherine S Miller

Catherine Cassandra Miller, 78, of Westminster, died Thursday, January 12, 2023 at home after an extended illness.  Born April 13, 1944 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Henry Shaffer Hook and Lovenia Dobson Hook.

She graduated from St. John High School and was a member of St. John Catholic Church.  Before retiring she was a retail manager for over 40 years.  She had a love for gardening and adored all her fur babies, especially Daisy.  She also enjoyed summer cookouts, family time, and going to the beach.

She is survived by her lifelong companion of 33 years, Norman Patterson; a love that will last a lifetime.

She was so proud of her son James “Jim” Ridgely Lane, Jr. and wife Brenda, her grandsons Brandon and Dylan Lane, all of Westminster.  She went by the name Sandy, Cee-Cee and Cecile.  She loved her family dearly.  Sandy had special friends in her life including Kathy Jones, Bonnie Fitzwater and Joyce Colvin “3 feathers.”

She was predeceased by a grandson Derrick M. Lane.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m.
