Constance C. Foote Obituary

Constance C. Foote of Westminster, Maryland died peacefully on April 23rd, 2025. She was born June 25th, 1939, in Niagara Falls, NY and spent 85 years living in Niagara Falls, NY, Syracuse, NY, LaFayette, NY, Fayetteville, NY and Westminster, MD. She was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School in 1956 and Syracuse University in 1960 where she was a proud sister of the Chi Omega Sorority and met her future husband. In later years, she earned a master's degree in education at Syracuse, served on several committees including that Board of Friends and the School of Education Board of Visitors as well as an alumni advisor for Chi Omega. 

Connie had a love for books which was reflected in her many years of employment, starting with the Niagara Falls Public Library while in high school and then continuing as a school librarian with Syracuse City school system (Elmwood Elementary & Grant Middle School). In her retirement, she served as the President of the LaFayette Public Library, Onondaga County Public Library Advisory Council, and the Carriage House Foundation Board. 

She enjoyed traveling & cruising abroad with her husband, Knowlton, as well as enjoying 25 plus fun summers with friends and family at their cottage at the Thousand Island Park, Wesley Island.  Connie celebrated over 60 years of marriage to Knowlton and is survived by her brother Mark Canfield and sister Phyllis Rieman (fellow SU Alumni & a school librarian), her son David, daughter-in-law Susan, son John (SU Grad), daughter-in-law Wendy and grandchildren Austin, his wife Haley, Ethan, Isabella, Nathan, and Adalyn.
