Deborah Lee “Debi” Gibson, 69, of Westminster, died Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Carroll Hospital Center. Born May 17, 1952 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Laura L. (Logue) Bailey and John W. Bailey. She is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, William “Bill” Gibson.
Debi worked at Carroll County CETA, Random House and the Carroll County Times. She served as President of the Carroll County FCE and was the Queen Mother of her Red Hat group, The Victorian Ladies. She also was a member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 897, in Westminster. She attended Westminster High School and enjoyed owls, snowmen, crafting, shopping, TV time and scrolling. There were many things that made her smile.
Besides her husband, she is survived by children Lisa Diaz and husband Tony of Westminster; Randy Grimes and wife Linda of Lenoir, NC and Laura Grimes-Cullen and husband Chris of Chambersburg, PA; siblings Ellen Berry, Lucy Smith and Robert, Gary and Scotty Bailey. Also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a brother John Bailey and sister Kathy Weinhold.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Shipley.
