Donald Michael “Mike” Forney, 74, of Hanover, PA., originally from Union Bridge, MD., died Sunday, May 3, 2026 at home with his loving family by his side. Born May 12, 1951 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Galen Reese Forney and Pauline Louise Koons Forney. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandra Lee Reese Forney.

Before retiring he worked at Lehigh in Woodsboro for 40 years and then worked at Carroll Lutheran Village. He enjoyed watching car racing and horse racing.

Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters Laurie Forney and partner Marty Harding of Hurlock, MD., and Chastity Forney Ensor and husband David of Hanover, PA.; one brother Jerry Forney of Westminster; sisters Linda Forney Johnson and husband Terry of Westminster and Sally Forney of Manchester; and 4 grandchildren Brenden and Owen Forney, Lincoln Forney Ensor and Khloe Shelton; sisters-in-law Dinah Reese and significant other Gary of Westminster and Rosalind Reese of Hanover, PA.; brother-in-law William Reese and significant other Sharon of Cockeysville, MD. Also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends and family at 12 noon on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, Maryland. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 1:00 p.m. A luncheon will be held after at the Union Bridge Fire Hall, 8 W Locust St, Union Bridge, MD 21791.
