Dr. Morris Jacob Glick Obituary

Dr. Morris Jacob Glick , a loving husband, father, stepfather, devoted dentist, and proud Baltimore native, passed away on April 24, 2026, at the age of 92.

Morris was the son of Harry Glick and Ruth Steel Glick. He graduated from Baltimore City College (City High School) in 1950, where he was a talented track athlete and a top academic student. He continued his education and athletics at Franklin and Marshall College, in Lancaster, Pa., from 1950 to 1953, and in 1957 earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Baylor Dental School in Dallas. Morris served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1959 before opening a general dentistry practice in Westminster, Md. Morris often said he never regretted a day of work because he had such wonderful patients. He was dedicated to their care and delivered skill, compassion, and humor for decades until his retirement in August 2000. He was a member of the Carroll County Dental Society and a lifelong member of the Maryland State Dental Association. For a period of time, he also shared his knowledge and passion for dentistry by teaching at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. His quick wit remained with him throughout his life, delighting the family he deeply loved as well as people who had known him for years and people he had newly met. He brought warmth and laughter into every room he entered. Morris developed a deep appreciation for rural life at his Mayberry Valley Farm, in Silver Run, Md. He especially enjoyed mowing the grass and the quiet rhythms of the countryside. He was also a lifelong reader and card player and a master at duplicate bridge, finding great joy in the game’s competition and companionship.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Margaret (Peggy) Glick; daughter, Robin Glick Baum; stepchildren, Ellen Daniels Cremer and Andrew Daniels (Robin); granddaughters Emma and Eliza; brother, Fred Glick (Arlene); nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Lawrence (Larry) Glick, and his sister, Paula Glick Caplan.

A celebration of life is being planned for June 20, 2026, at Carroll Lutheran Village in The Link in Westminster, Md., from 2 to 4 p.m. with additional details to be announced later.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BridgingLIfe (292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157); or Carroll Lutheran Village Benevolent Fund (300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, MD 21158).
