Earl Theodore Sterner, 95, of Westminster, died Monday, December 29, 2025, at Carroll Hospital Center. Born May 1, 1930 in Bachmans Valley, Maryland, he was the son of the late Paul Stewart Sterner and Mary Elizabeth Wantz Sterner. Survived by his wife of 69 years, Frances Marie Litz Sterner.
He was a lifelong carpenter and was a farmer as a kid. He was also a lifelong member of the Mason-Dixon Historical Society, enjoyed collecting small engines, Whizzer Bikes and gardening.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters Marie F. Sterner of Westminster and Linda D. Ey and husband Shane J. Ey of Westminster, grandson Scott Andrew Ey of Westminster, sister Marie M. Luckabaugh of Hanover, PA and brother Eugene R. Sterner of Westminster. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers Luther E. Sterner, Lawrence J. Sterner and Guy J. Sterner and sister Gladys V. Muller.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, MD 21157. Friends may also call 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the funeral home where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Sykesville.
