Eustace H. Hallowell II Obituary

Eustace H. Hallowell II of Westminster, 88, peacefully left this life on Tuesday, January 14, 2026. He was born on September 29, 1937 in Edgemere, Md to Eustace H. Mills Sr and Louise Geneva (Rector) Mills Hallowell.


As a devout Quaker, he spent his childhood in Pennsylvania, graduating high school from Central Bucks High School in Doylestown, PA. He attended several colleges and enlisted in the National Guard receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1963. Eustace went on to work as Division Manager for Sylvan Pools, along with memorable jobs at Clyde’s and Diversified Homes. Eustace is known for negotiating the best deal and his famous words, “fantastic, amazing, great and wonderful”. Eustace married the love of his life, Portia Larae Huber on October 25, 1986. They enjoyed cars, motorcycles, dancing, and traveling the world together.


He is survived by his brother, Thomas Hallowell, his daughter, Pamela (Edward) Smith of Montrose, MI, son, Eustace Harris Hallowell III of Westminster, MD and three grandchildren, Christina (Matt) Steffen, Gregory Smith, and Bradley Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Portia, and brother, Ronald Winston Mills.


A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 1-4 p.m. at his home in Westminster, Maryland.
