Frank Henry Rammes, 76, of Finksburg/Westminster, died at Lorien Taneytown on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.  Born March 16,1949 in Baltimore, he was the son of Dorothy Elizabeth Ritter Rammes and Charles Frank Rammes.  His brother Shannon Charles Rammes predeceased him.  He is survived by cousins Rayma and LeeAnn Biggs.

Frank was a 1968 graduate of Westminster High School, and a 1972 graduate of the University of Maryland College Park, where his degree was a major in history and a minor in political science. He received a paralegal degree from the National Academy of Paralegals through the College of Notre Dame, Maryland. 

For most of his career, 20 or more years, Frank worked for the Public Defender’s Office of Carroll County.  Frank was active in local politics.  He was perhaps the only person to ever hold positions on both the Carroll County Republican Central Committee and the Democratic Central Committee and Democratic Club.

Frank enjoyed trips to Williamsburg and a memorable vacation in Hawaii with his brother Shannon and friend.

He was an avid fan of baseball, football and college basketball, especially the Orioles, Ravens and the former Baltimore Colts, other activities included deep sea fishing in Ocean City and reading. He especially liked history books and became somewhat of a self-taught expert on World War I.  Perhaps his greatest pleasure was talking about politics over glasses of wine with his late friend Rick Fisher, or anyone else willing to engage.  He was most fond of his god-daughter Adrienne Fisher.  Special thanks to Debbie Singer, Corynne Courpas and Elaine and George Conover, who were especially close and helpful to Frank in later years.

There will be no visitation or memorial. You can remember Frank through a donation to Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue.
