Franklin Victor Saunders, 87, of Westminster, died Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Autumn Lake at Long View.  Born April 27, 1939 in Hancock, MD, he was the son of the late Sarah J. (Beard) Saunders and Charlie K. Saunders.  He was the husband of the late Karen Saunders. 

Before retiring he worked as a Nurse’s Aide for Springfield State Hospital.  He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 200 and Moose Lodge No. 1381.  He was a veteran of the Army.

He is survived by son Paul Saunders and wife Dana of Westminster; daughter Robin (Saunders) McCulley and husband Danny, Jr. of Hanover, PA; sister Maybel (Saunders) Orndorf, grandchildren Lucas Saunders of Los Angeles, CA; Hailey McCulley & Danny McCulley, III of Hanover, PA; Hailee Montour of Hampstead; Nathan Montour of New Windsor, PA and companion June Montour.

He was predeceased by son Douglas Saunders, sister Sarah (Saunders) Frock and brother Melton “Tuby” Saunders, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m.  Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m.  Interment will be private at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
