George Andrew Klinger, Jr., 79, of Finksburg, MD, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the BridgingLife Dove House.  George was born August 18, 1944 in Baltimore, MD to George A. Klinger, Sr. and Mary E. (Zile) Klinger.  He is survived by his wife Kathleen M. (Wilson) Klinger whom he married November 12, 1967. 

George started his career as an electrician as a teenager working for various contractors.  In November 1974 he started his own business, operating as George A. Klinger, Jr., Inc. Electrical Contractor.  He was a member and past officer of the Electrical Association of Carroll County and the Carroll County Electrical Board.  He was a member of Roaring Run Lions Club for over 50 years. 

He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing on the bay and ocean.  He was a collector of decorative waterfowl carvings and enjoyed attending waterfowl shows, especially the show in Easton and OC MD.  He loved his dogs, especially the dachshunds, and he looked forward to seeing them.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son Andrew R. Klinger and wife Michelle of Finksburg, MD and daughter Dr. Audrey L. Birkhold and husband Erik of Columbus, OH; grandchildren Shawney A. Klinger of Oneida, NY; Alaric and Kelson Birkhold of Columbus, OH and step-grandson Austin Jackson of Finksburg.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Sandy Mount United Methodist Church, 2101 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, MD 21048.  The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 a.m. until service time at noon.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
