George Allen Quivers, Jr. Obituary

George Allen Quivers Jr., 85, of Taneytown, MD, died Friday, June 14, 2024 at BridgingLife Hospice at Northwest Hospital. Born January 21, 1939 in Library, PA, he was the son of the late George Allen Quivers and Gertrude Martin Quivers.

George served in the Army during the Vietnam War. After being discharged he worked as a Mechanic for Gulf Oil, then studied at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and became a Computer Programmer. After extensive careers at both Gulf Oil and Blue Cross Blue Shield, he retired. Throughout his retirement years, George enjoyed the great outdoors, was an avid golfer, die hard Steelers & Pirates fan and loved nothing more than watching his grandson play baseball.

Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia Lee Quivers, son Kevin A. Quivers and his wife Tamara of Little Rock, Arkansas, his daughter  Tracey L. Gill, son-in-law Kevin and grandson Cooper M. Gill of Manchester, MD,  sister Hilda Lucas of Orlando, Florida. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
