Gary H. Chick, 94, died Friday, September 20, 2024 at his home in Finksburg, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, A. Elizabeth Chick (Betty). He then married Patricia A. Cussen in 2017 and spent his last years with her until her passing earlier this year.
He was born May 21, 1930 in Bridgton, Maine, the son of Virgie A. Chick and Ida Barker-Chick.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and upon discharge obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Baltimore.
He was in the insurance industry for many years and obtained Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU) designation. Eventually he was self-employed and co-founder of Kelly-Chick and Associates.
In his free time he could be found on the golf course where he played in many leagues. He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion, Eagles and lifetime member of the Elks where he had served as a previous Exalted Ruler.
He is survived by his children, Diana Bauerline of Glen Rock PA, David Chick of Forest Hill, MD, and Deborah Chick-Gott of Finksburg, MD. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held for the family at a later date.
