Gladys Mae (Shaeffer) Fisher, 92, of Hanover, PA, died Sunday, September 22, 2024, at UPMC Hospital in Hanover.  Born July 6, 1932 in Brooklandville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ada (Owings) Schaeffer and Benjamin A. Shaeffer, Sr.  She was the wife of the late Lavere B. Fisher.

Before retiring she worked in Retail for Montgomery Wards.  She was a 1951 graduate of Franklin High School. 

She is survived by children Linda M. (Fisher) Jones and husband Wayne of Taneytown; Charles L. Fisher and wife Patricia of Taneytown and Robert W. Fisher of Hanover, PA; grandchildren Cathy, Melissa, Rachel, James, Benjamin and Jerry.  Also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by daughters Donna Ann (Fisher) Upchurch and Brenda Lee Zentz, and a sister Jean Fike.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.  Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
