Harding David “Gubby” Hanson, 78, of Westminster, died Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at his home. Born February 21, 1947 in Maryland, he was the son of the late Harding “Hank” Oakley Hanson and Mary Gladys Miller Hanson. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Yvonne Petry Hanson.

Before retiring he was a carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, coin collecting, watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke and was an avid Redskins fan.

Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter Melissa Hunter (Mark); 3 sisters Dolores A. Luhn (George), Diane J. Starner and Mary L. Weinhold; one brother Julian W. Hanson; 4 grandchildren Jessica Phillips (Jordan), Shane Utz (Audra and Hope), Calvin Utz and Mark Hunter, Jr.; 2 greatgrandchildren Kaylee and Aaron Phillips; and longtime family friend Debbie Gilbert.

He was predeceased by a daughter Tina Utz and 3 brothers Stanley K., Robert L. and Phillip R. Hanson.
