Harry James Conover, 91, of Westminster, died Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Carroll Hospital. Born November 26, 1933 in New Jersey, he was the son of the late Cecelia (Thibault) Conover and James Ryan Conover. He was the beloved husband of the late Christine B. Conover.
He worked as a salesman in the food processing industry and also owned and operated the Green Thumb. Harry was a charter member of the Pleasant Valley Lion’s Club, member of the Westminster Elks Lodge and was an active volunteer at the Carroll County Farm Museum. He obtained a bachelor’s degree from Delaware Valley College and served in the Army.
He is survived by children Kevin Conover (Jacqueline) of Berwyn Heights, MD; Susan Mauck (Michael) of Burtonsville, MD; and Carol Conover of Finksburg, daughter-in-law Terri McClelland of Taneytown; sister Barbara Costello, grandchildren Shelby, Sara, Kathleen, Megan and husband Joe and Ryan.
He was predeceased by a son Scott Conover.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
