Harvey Wesley Towers Obituary
On March 3, 1943, at precisely 12:00 noon, Harvey Wesley Towers made his debut in Denton, Caroline County, Maryland. He departed this world on March 17, 2025, at 8:30 AM in Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland, leaving behind a legacy of humor, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the great outdoors.
Harvey was greeted in the afterlife by his father, Elwood Towers; his mother, Mary Gifford; his brothers, Elwood Towers, Charles Towers and half-brother Norris Gifford; and his sisters, Elizabeth Adams and Dorothy Green. Though his family reunion in heaven may be lively, he leaves a space in the hearts of those still here, including his beloved niece, Elizabeth Towers, and his nephew, Glenn West.
Harvey spent his working years at the Westminster Trash Company, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor. But his real passion was his volunteer work. Harvey became a legend at the local car wash, dedicating decades of his life to keeping cars gleaming and spirits bright. His willingness to lend a hand to other small businesses was a testament to his generous nature.
A man of simple yet profound joys, Harvey found his true happiness in gardening, fishing, and embracing the beauty of the outdoors. Whether he was coaxing tomatoes to perfection or waiting for the perfect catch, he approached life with humor and heart.
Harvey’s laugh was infectious, his kindness unparalleled, and his love for life unmatched. He will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him—and by anyone who enjoyed a sparkling clean car courtesy of his volunteer efforts.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will be private.
