Heidi Martha Bavetta

Heidi Martha Bavetta, 88, of Taneytown, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, with family by her side.  Born April 6, 1933 in Madrid, Spain, she was the daughter of the late Hilde Geissenhoener Goerbert and Richard Goerbert.  She was the wife of the late Gaspare Francis Bavetta.

Heidi lived an extraordinary life.  She grew up in Colombia, South America and although she was a 6’1” German woman, she considered herself a “Latina.”  She was an avid reader, a master seamstress and homemaker for her family.  During the pandemic, she sewed over 100 masks for the staff of Lorien Taneytown Assisted Living.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Erika Mikesell and husband Barry of Taneytown and Christina Bavetta and husband James Ball of Alexandria, VA; sister Barbara Ellrich, grandchildren Anna, Gary and Rosie Bavetta and Casandra and Victoria Maier.

She was predeceased by a daughter Anna Bavetta and a son Angelo Bavetta.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
