Helen Irene Dellospedale Obituary

Helen Irene Dellospedale, 94, of Westminster, died Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Carroll Hospital Center, with her loving family by her side.  Born December 5, 1930 in New Windsor, she was the daughter of the late David W. Hooper and Addie Belle Waddell Hooper.  She was the wife of the late Paul John Dellospedale who died October 11, 1997. 

Before retiring she worked at Springfield State Hospital, Black and Decker, Westminster Shoe Co., B.F. Shriver’s, Service Masters and Westminster Nursing Home.  She was a member of the Moose Lodge, enjoyed playing cards, music and singing, gambling and being around her family and part of the singing and playing group Grandpa Jones and The Hooper Sisters.

She is survived by two children Richard L. Dellospedale and Shelia J. Rose (Jeffrey) of Westminster, a sister Shirley Kloss of New Oxford, PA; daughter-in-law Margie Dellospedale of Westminster; grandchildren Brian Reese, Melanie Gibson (Jesse), Melissa Reese, Ronald Rose, Heather Rose, Michelle Unkart (Jay), Timmy Dellospedale (Connie), Greg Lambert and Barbara DeRita (Jerry); great-grandchildren Caleb, Sage, Adelina, Kayleigh, Anthony, Ricky, Colby, Brianna, Austin, Amber, Brandon (Tara ), Mandy, Greg, Jr., Justin, Joseph, Jessica and Ashley, great-great-grandchildren Libby, Layla, Logan, Sadie, Joseph, Jr., Joy, Billy Jr.,  Journey and devoted family friend Becky Saylor.

She was predeceased by daughter and son-in-law Carlotta A. “Carnie” and Charles “Ginger” Lambert, a son Michael L. “Mike” Dellospedale, a grandson Dwayne Lambert and 11 siblings Thelma McClelland, Mildred Colson, Frank Hooper, Bill Hooper, Cliff Hooper, Herman Hooper, Donald Hooper, Loretta “Tip” Shaeffer, Nettie “Mandy” Shaeffer, Ralph Waddell and Mae McKinney.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery.
