Helen Muse Vogt, 94, of Westminster, died peacefully with her loving children by her side, on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at the Dove House. Born August 2, 1926 in Finksburg, she was the daughter of the late Fred Reed Muse, Sr. and Deborah Ireland Baseman Muse. She was the loving wife to the late Frank Louis “Jake” Vogt, Jr., who passed away on August 9, 1993.
Before retiring Helen and Jake owned and operated Vogt’s Auto Recycling for 47 years. She was a 1943 graduate of Westminster High School, a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Ladies Elks and was a volunteer at Carroll Lutheran Village.
Survived by her son Frank Louis “Butch” Vogt, III and spouse Lai Phetsamone of Westminster and daughter Judy Ann Furbay of Taneytown; 2 grandchildren Christopher Furbay and spouse Jodie, Jessica Furbay; 6 great-grandchildren Tori, Tanner, Hanna, Hailey, Cody and Brianna; and sister Julia A. Naill of New Windsor.
She was predeceased by brothers Fred R. Muse, Jr., John M. Muse, C. Thomas Muse, William F. Muse and Eugene I. Muse and son-in-law Wayne Furbay.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg, with Rev. Lou Piel officiating.
