Isaac Edward Waller, 96, of Westminster, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Carroll Hospital Center. Born on December 19, 1928, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Lester Conrad Waller and Jessie Marine Waller. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Nancy Waller.

Ike, as he was affectionately known, led a rich and varied life. He co-owned Lester's Shoe Shop on Main Street in Westminster, MD alongside his father, Lester Waller, and continued to run the business after his father's death. In addition to the shoe shop, Ike worked for Baltimore Gas & Electric from 1961 to 1994, and he proudly served his country during the Korean War as a radar operator. Beyond his work and military service, he had a deep passion for collecting, having amassed an impressive collection of hundreds of rare and vintage beer cans, hats, and model trains.

Ike spent most of his free time at the American Legion Post 31 in Westminster,MD. Known for his humor and quick wit, he found great delight in telling jokes, listening to golden oldies and gospel music, and enjoying good company.

He is survived by his son Tommy Coates, daughter in law, Margaret Coates; grandchildren Joel Coates, Jazmine Daniel (Gregory) and Jenice Coates, his niece Dianne Morris; as well as a host of other great friends in his community.

He was predeceased by his brother in law and sister, Ralph and Elizabeth Hooper, great-nephew Brian Morris and nephew-in-law Alvin Morris.

The family will have a Celebration of Life visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, MD 21157. At 1 p.m. the family would like for folks to get up and share a memory of Ike and at 1:40 p.m. the visitation will end with an American Legion Post 31 service.
