James Henry Steinberg, 89, of New Windsor, MD, died surrounded by his loving family, January 11, 2021, at his home, five hundred feet from where he was born.
Born March 3, 1931, at home in New Windsor, MD. He was the son of the late Edward Steinberg, Sr. and Barbara Elizabeth Kolhes Steinberg. Mr. Steinberg was employed 33 years with Carroll County Board of Education at New Windsor Middle School. He was a single father who raised six children on his own. He enjoyed visits with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, and watching nature in his backyard.
Survived by brother, William F. Steinberg of Hanover, PA,; children Debra Morral of Elizabeth City, NC; Douglas (wife, Karen) of Taneytown, MD; David (wife, Kelly) of Ladiesburg, MD; Daniel (wife, Phyllis) of Westminster, MD; Dwayne of Taneytown, MD; and Denise Wilson (husband, Perry) of Laurel, MD; seven grandchildren; Tabitha, Roger, Caryn, Rachel, Myla, Danielle, and Carla; two great-grandchildren, Will and Cody.
He was preceded by brothers, George, Edward, and Joseph Steinberg, sisters; Naomi Steinberg, Eva B. Miller, Gertrude Spurrier, Gladys Weber, Theresa Phillips, and Mildred Zepp.
No Service due to Covid19. A memorial will be planned in the summer.
