Jeffrey Scott Hutsell, 56, of Westminster, died on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born on June 11, 1969, in Frederick, MD., he was the son of Sandra Lee Byers Hutsell Cook and step father Gary Cook and the late James Greg Hutsell. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 beautiful years Maria Elisa Hutsell who he’s been with for 33 loving years.

He graduated from Westminster High School in 1989. He worked as a chef at Lorien in Mount Airy. He enjoyed all sports and he was an avid Washington Redskins fan, fishing, drinking Coca-Cola, coffee and cooking. He and his granddaughter Elizabeth are like two peas in a pod. He loved to see his wife happy, make everyone laugh and bring people together. He knew everyone and wanted everyone to love each other. He played many sports and was fondly called “The Mayor”.  He was tenderhearted.

Besides his wife and mother he is survived by his 3 children Camille Henricks (Josh), Christine Niceler and James Benesch (Summer); siblings Gregory Scott Hutsell (Penny), Jennifer Lynn Freeman; step-sister Sheri Bullard; step-brother Rick Cook; grandchildren Elizabeth Mariah Knowles (Braden), Mario Ochoa, Lillian Benesch, James Benesch, Jr., and Ezra Benesch; nieces and nephews Cassandra Freeman, Samuel Freeman, Savannah Hutsell and Sarah Hutsell; best friend Randy Barton; and many more friends and family; and his 4-legged fur babies Lucky and Rusty.

He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Frank Freeman.

We love you and you are one of our guardian angels and you will be very missed.

Celebration of life services will be announced at a later date.
