Joel Andrew Eiler, 58, of Westminster, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at University of Maryland Medical Center, after a brief illness. Born on July 31, 1965 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Ronald Bert Eiler and Dorothy May Keibler Eiler. He was the loving husband of Marcia Eiler and the loving father of Emily Eiler and her fiancé Daniel Harrell.

In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by his sister Lauri Bailey & her husband Dave, his brother Scott Eiler & his wife Lorrie, and several nieces and nephews.

Joel was the owner and operator of Budget Blinds of Westminster, which he purchased in 2017. He worked in construction most ofhis life where he developed his impeccable craftsmanship, but always had an entrepreneurial spirit. This combination made him loved by many as a small business owner.

Joel was a member of the Professional Bowling Association (PBA) when he was younger. He won a number of regional championships, including the Pittsburgh Open, and bowled several 300 games during his PBA tournaments.

Seeded by his years caddying at Oakmont Country Club during high school, he developed a passion for golf later in life and has loved all things about the sport since. Whether he was watching it on TV, playing in tournaments (and winning), or attending the US Open, the Ryder Cup, or the Masters. Over the years he tuned his handicap to a 4.9, broke 70, and frequently qualified for the US Amateur Tour National Championship, winning the year it was held in Palm Springs.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, MD 21157. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will also be from 10 – 11 a.m. on Monday before the funeral.

Interment will be private at a later date.
