Joyce Bonita Capps, 65, of New Windsor, passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 at the Dove House. Born September 15, 1958 in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Frank Junior Vaught and Gladys Louise Musselman Vaught.

Joyce was a very special person. She was a fun loving people person who enjoyed photography, shopping, watching the Ravens and Yankees, tending to her flowers and giving to people, rather than receiving. She was a hard worker and she loved animals. She loved being a mother and grandma and spending time with family, friends and her dog Shiloh.

She is survived by her son Ronnie J. Schaefer, Jr. and his wife Nicole, grandchildren Ayden R. Schaefer, Kyleigh M. Schaefer, Brennan P. Schaefer, step-son Louis “BJ” Capps, Jr. and his significant other Ashley Fisher, step-grandchildren, Camden Capps, Landon Capps, Levi Capps and Layton Capps, sister Wanda Warren, God-daughter Dorie Wilson, long time family friend Butchie Lamartina and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her siblings Butch Vaught, Frank “Tweety” Vaught, Stanley Vaught, Connie Vaught and Diane Toomey.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Ferrante officiating at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, MD 21157. Interment will follow at Loudon Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Ronald Joseph Schaefer, Jr. to defray the cost of the funeral.
