Julie “Jules” Crystal Hill-Wintsch, of Union Bridge, MD, passed away unexpectedly at her home on February 28, 2026, one month shy of her 50th birthday. Born on March 27, 1976, she was the daughter of Lori Carey (Nickles) and Charles Hill.

Jules was a 1994 graduate of Westminster High School. Shortly after graduating, she became a stay-at-home mom — the role she found most rewarding and cherished above all others. Jules loved to talk and could tell a story like no other, often captivating everyone around her with her animated expressions and humor. She enjoyed evenings spent around a bonfire, playing cards with family and friends, and creating holiday traditions that will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Phillip “Flip” Wintsch, with whom she shared 31 years; her daughter, Kayla Kolb, and son-in-law, Derek Kolb; her son, Austin Wintsch, and his fiancée, Taylor O’Hara; and her first and only grandson, Emmett Kolb. She also leaves behind her four-legged grandpup and best friend, Nala B. Also survived by her mother-in-law, Dorothy “Dolly” Wintsch; stepmother, Karen Hill; and many extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Walter and Joan Nickles; her aunt, Brenda Collins; and stepfather, Patrick Carey.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 2 to 4 p.m and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, MD. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, MD. Interment will follow at Manchester Baptist Church in Manchester, MD.
