Kelly Anne (Toomey) Jones

Kelly Anne Jones (née Toomey), 57, of Hampstead, passed Friday, December 25, 2020. Kelly was a lifelong avid reader, puzzle maker, and game-player. She enjoyed doing almost anything, so long as it could be done outdoors. She was an adventurous traveler, a gifted gardener and lover of spicy food. A devoted mother and aunt, Kelly was also a patient and supportive teacher. A fiercely loyal friend with a generous heart.

Born August 17, 1963 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Barbara Ann (Flynn) Toomey and the late Thomas F. Toomey, Jr.  After graduating from Widener University in 1985, Kelly embarked on a successful career in information technology. For the last 20 years, she was a valued colleague and contributor at Penguin Random House in Westminster.

She is survived by her children, Kevin (Megan Collins) and Katie (Nick Rizzutti) and her longtime partner, Kevin Harp. Kelly also leaves behind her large extended family, including her five siblings, Paul Toomey (Kathy), Michael Toomey (Michelle), Kathy McNamara (Joe), Kim Toomey (Joe Schumacher), and Kristen McKenzie (Joe), and dozens of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral and Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, MD.  Celebration of Life Services will begin at 3 p.m.
