Kenneth (Ken) Conway, 91, of Sykesville, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born on January 23, 1933 and raised in South Baltimore. He was the son of Kenneth Gordon Conway and Leona Mathias. He was the loving husband to the late Pat Conway.
He attended Southern High School with Al Kaline. They even played ball together before Al went professional. Ken spent two years in the Army in the Tank Battalion. While with the Army, he was deployed to Germany. After he returned he lived in Halethorpe before settling in Reedville, VA in a nice house on the water. Ken has visited Colorado. He was able to see much of Germany and even Copenhagen while deployed. Ken worked for 38 years for Westinghouse. He worked his way from machinist to top inspector. He enjoyed multiple opportunities to golf with Johnny Unitas while at Westinghouse. He met his wife, Patricia Ann, while at Westinghouse. She worked as a nurse at the Westinghouse BWI location. Together they raised two daughters and one son. All the children are married now and have children of their own. They are all nearby in Sykesville and that was enough to get Ken to move from Virginia to Sykesville. Ken enjoys playing cards and playing pool and had an interest in painting. He had a fun sense of humor and a very artistic eye as well. Ken was honored with the Legionnaire of the Year from Post117 in Virginia. He was an avid hunter and was honored with a lifetime Wild Turkey Hunter Award. He also received the largest deer award one year. He received a very nice, framed award from Westinghouse in recognition of his 38 years of service.
