Leonard Tremper Obituary

Leonard F. Tremper, 88, of Westminster, died on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Dove House after an extended illness. Born on September 6, 1933 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Joseph Anthony Tremper and Elizabeth Koch Tremper. He is survived by his wife Barbara Tremper of 33 years.

Leonard farmed with his family in Harford County, then moved to a larger farm in Kingsville, Maryland. In February of 1968 his family moved to an even larger farm in Westminster, and raised night market produce, hogs, and cattle. After his parents passing, Leonard and his late brother Joseph formed the partnership of Tremper Brothers where they raised market hogs and angus cattle. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and a member of the American Angus Association for over 65 years. Lenny’s passion was breeding and raising Angus cattle. Many afternoons you could see him checking his cattle with his cattle dog Sue.  In the spring he enjoyed Turkey hunting and, in the fall, you could find him deer, rabbit and fox hunting throughout his life. Leonard enjoyed listening to old country music and blue grass and loved to play his harmonica.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Barbara Jean Feldman and husband Timothy of Westminster; his nephew whom he raised and farmed with since he was 12, Ed Ledzinski and wife Pam of Westminster; three grandchildren, Jack, Andrew, and Emily Feldman; three step Sons; Raymond, Alan and Mark and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family members, and an amazing amount of friends.

Services will be private. We will have a celebration of life in the spring.
