Leroy Henry McCormick, Jr.

Leroy Henry McCormick, Jr., 63, of Cumberland, Maryland, formally of Westminster, died Thursday, August 31, 2023 at home. Born January 17, 1960 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Leroy Henry McCormick, Sr. and Gloria Jean Mummaugh McCormick. Before retiring he was a Combat Medic for the Battery A 2/110 Field Artillery and a 13 B 10 Cannon Crew Member for 20 years and 8 months. He also worked at Thunderhead Bowling Alley. He enjoyed building model airplanes, cars and boats. He also enjoyed dancing, skateboarding, bowling, softball and NASCAR. Most of all, he loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters Felicia Renee McCormick, Morgan Leigh Weir and her husband John, grandchildren Landen and Ryleigh Weir; 2 sisters, 2 aunts, 1 uncle, several nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by 2 uncles and 2 nieces. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 5 – 7 p.m., a funeral service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, MD 21157. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses.
