Linda Lawson Obituary

Linda Fletcher Lawson, 65, of Westminster, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2023 at her home in Westminster, MD. She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and cherished memories. Linda was born December 18, 1957, in Silver Spring, Maryland, to the late Nancy Kirby Fletcher and Thomas D. Fletcher, Sr. She was the beloved wife of Scott Lawson, who passed away August 6, 2006.

Linda graduated from Westminster High School in 1975. She then worked for Gould and then Telemecanique. She spent most of her children's life in Garner, North Carolina where she was a kindergarten teacher assistant. They have many amazing memories with friends in NC. In 2012, she moved back to Maryland where she cared for her late mother and worked at Piney Branch Golf Course. She enjoyed her time spent with coworkers and members over the years. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love, warmth, and unwavering support will be cherished and carried forward by her family and friends.

Linda's greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her three children, Brendan Lawson and wife Kelly of Jefferson, MD; Colin Lawson of Clayton, NC and Darby Sipes and husband Brady of Parkville, MD; four grandchildren Emma, Avery, Camden and Spencer who brought her immense happiness to her life, and she eagerly anticipated the arrival of her fifth grandchild Scotty. Linda is also survived by her four siblings, Connie and Jeff Zumbrun of Eldersburg; Dale and Teresa Fletcher of Westminster; Cynthia Fletcher of Alpharetta, GA and Kim and Ken Booe of Westminster, sister-in-law Sue Glover and brother-in-law Tim Lawson. Family was at the heart of Linda's world, and she cherished every moment spent with her family. Whether it was family gatherings, holidays, or simply spending quality time together, Linda always dressed up and showed up. She loved watching her nieces and nephews sporting events over the years. Linda's love extended beyond her immediate family. She had a special place in her heart for her 16 nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and a wide circle of friends. Her strength, courage, compassion, and genuine interest in others made her a cherished, confidant and loyal friend and family member.

She was predeceased by her nephew James C. “Jimmy” Zumbrun. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
