Lucinda Shaffer Obituary

Lucinda “Cindy” Mildred Shaffer, 73, of Westminster, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 3, 2023 at the Dove House after a long battle with COPD. Born April 23, 1949 in Carroll County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Paul Weidner and Grace Muller Weidner. She was the beloved wife of the late Roger Lee Shaffer.

Before her retirement, she was a seamstress at Chris Kraft LTD where she made some great lifelong friends. She then worked at Jos. A Bank as a seamstress. After she left the sewing factory she was a custodian at Spring Gardens Elementary School and then at the North Carroll Senior Center.  Cindy enjoyed sewing and had a great talent for it. She especially enjoyed making Memory Bears and cross stitching. She enjoyed listening to country music. She loved participating in her virtual respiratory therapy group through Home Rehab Network, in which she also made many friends. Her most cherished moments were her time spent with her grandchildren, family, friends and the family dog Toby. 

She is survived by her children Bonnie Sahm and husband Robert of Westminster and Kenneth Fringer and fiancé Lisa Forester of Manchester; brothers Richard Weidner and wife Sandy and Maurice Weidner and wife Lana all of Westminster; grandchildren Georgia Andrew and husband Ron of Littlestown, PA, Timothy Edwards of Delaware, Sophia Sahm and Cooper Sahm of Westminster and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by daughter-in-law Cynthia Fringer.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, MD 21157. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at St Luke's (Winters) Lutheran Church Cemetery in New Windsor.
