Makenzi Rae Cash

Makenzi Rae Cash, 14, of Finksburg, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Johns Hopkins pediatric ICU, surrounded by loving family and friends.  Born June 25, 2008 in Westminster, she was the daughter of Rachael Renee (Hooper) Cash and Christopher James Cash.

She was a 9^th grade student at Westminster High School.  MaKenzi played for Limitless Volleyball Club. She enjoyed tubing, cliff jumping, golf-carting and boating with her river family at Riverbend on the Potomac. She loved traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She loved and adored her pets with all of her heart. She was an organ donor who gave the gift of life to five recipients.

Besides her parents, she is survived by sister Kayla Renee Cash of Finksburg; grandparents Deborah (Schaeffer) Carlson and John W. Carlson, Jr. of Westminster; Jennifer (Kirkus) Cash and John J. Cash, Sr. of Hanover, PA; great-grandmothers Evelyn D. Schaeffer of Finksburg and Ann R. Ryman of Finksburg; great aunt Dora (Cash) Harvey, great uncle Joe Schaeffer, great aunt Josie Schaeffer, aunt Amanda D. (Hooper) Mueller and husband Jason E. Mueller of Manchester.  Also survived by great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by great-grandfather Ralph Joseph Schaeffer Sr., grandfather Ronald Henry Hooper, uncle Ronald Henry Hooper Jr., uncle John J. Cash, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 1 to 4 and 5 to 9 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. 

Private funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
