Marilynne Nell Clayton, 61, of Westminster, died Thursday, May 15, 2025, at her residence.  Born December 29, 1963 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Rosemarie (Fantone) Shipley, the late John A. Clayton, stepfather Larry S. Shipley.

She was a graduate of Westminster High School, Class of 1982 and Westminster Beauty School.  She went on to own and manage The Hair After since 1997 where Marilynne’s clients became life-long friends.  For over 25 years she dedicated herself helping others with terminal illnesses as a volunteer at Hospice of Carroll County.

She was the senior member of the wonderful Beth Myers Bible Study Group for over 35 years.  Through the group of individuals, Marilynne forged the most loving relationships with these wonderful people.

Prior to her diagnosis in 2019, Marilynne enjoyed traveling the world.  Her most favorite destination being Negril, Jamaica where she spent many trips with friends and family.  On any given weekend Marilynne could be found indulging in her favorite pastime of antiquing, searching flea markets for the best deals (anything leopard or retro).

She is survived by sister June Romeo, beloved mother of her daughter Priscilla, adopted son Tyler Collins, devoted aunt of Nicholas Alexander Stonesifer and Mia Danielle Romeo, step-father Larry Shipley, step-sisters Dawn Alder and Lorrie Snider, aunts Gloria Mauer and Rheanell Day, uncles Alexander Fantone and James Clayton, and caregiver and friend Jannine Bretz.  Also survived by numerous cousins.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.  Celebration of Life Services will begin at 4 p.m.

Following the services please join the family at Paradiso Ristorante, 20 Distillery Rd., Westminster, MD 21157 to celebrate Marilynne’s beautiful life.
