Mary Gill Obituary

Mary Lou Gill, 80, of Westminster, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Autumn Lake at Long View in Manchester, Maryland, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure and dementia.

Born on October 9, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland, Mary Lou was the daughter of the late Mary Theresa Fraunholz Garner and Raymond Paul Garner, Sr.

Mary Lou graduated from Catholic High School in Baltimore in 1963. She later became the proud owner of Cecelia's Bridals, where she dedicated many years helping countless brides prepare for one of the most important days of their lives. She retired in 2014 after a successful career in the bridal industry. She was a faithful member of St. John's Catholic Church in Westminster.

She is survived by her five children: Ted Gill; William Gill and his wife, Lauren; James Gill and his wife, Maureen; Thomas Gill and his wife, Kristin; and Jeanne Mott and her husband, Doug. She is also survived by her brother, Raymond P. Garner, Jr., and sister-in-law, Brenda Garner, as well as thirteen beloved grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many lifelong friends whom she considered family.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Theresa Fraunholz Garner and Raymond Paul Garner, Sr.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Autumn Lake at Long View for the care and compassion they provided during Mary's final years.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 4-8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, MD. Reverend Father Jack Ward will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at Lorraine Park Cemetery, 5608 Dogwood Rd, Baltimore, MD 21207.
