Maryann T. Stewart, 74, of Finksburg, MD., passed away July 31, 2025, at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA., of complications from a hip joint repair. Maryann was born February 4, 1951, in Baltimore. She was the daughter of the late Olga H. Tilman, of Brooklyn, NY and William R. Tilman, Jr., of Baltimore. Maryann was the loving wife of Jon D. Stewart of Finksburg, for 50 years.

She attended St. Matthew’s Catholic School, Mercy High School and Mount St. Agnes College, all in Baltimore. Maryann worked for Peterson, Howell & Heather and The Baltimore News-American before beginning a family and staying home with 4 children for 13 years. Then in 1989, she began a lengthy career as an assistant in the real estate industry. Maryann worked for many years for Long and Foster, Coldwell Banker and Berkshire Hathaway. She was known for her superb diligence and competency and her sharp wit dazzled co-workers. Her willingness to help anyone was greatly appreciated throughout the office. Maryann excelled at organizing social events that brought people together and helped remind them to stay in touch over many years. She was an excellent cook, and attendees at these events raved about her dishes because Maryann took the basic recipes and greatly improved them.

Maryann Is survived by her husband, Jon D. Stewart of Finksburg; 4 children Tara Elizabeth Schwartz and her husband Michael of Orefield, PA., Justin Matthew Stewart of Stafford, VA., Amanda Lauren Stewart of Westminster, MD., and Blake Alexander Stewart and his wife Alanna Gretschel of State College, PA.; 4 grandchildren Hannah Elizabeth Schwartz and Noah Stewart Schwartz of Orefield, PA., Avery Marie Stewart of Byron Center, MI. and Paul Alexander Stewart of State College, PA.; a sister Teresa Marie Hirsch of Woodburn, OR.; a brother William Rudolph Tilman III of Baltimore.

She was predeceased by her sister Marjorie and her Aunt Maryann.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Memorial services will begin at 11 a.m.
