Maureen Ann Simons Obituary

Maureen Ann “Reen, the bingo queen “ Simons, 57, of Sykesville, died Wednesday August 13th at her residence. Born June 16, 1968, Maureen was the daughter of the late John and Mary Jenkins.

Maureen loved nothing more than reminiscing about her late husband Glen, catfishing on the Shenandoah river, winning BIG at bingo, watching her favorite show, Sponge Bob SquarePants, and spending time with her husky-child, puppy.

Maureen is survived by her step sons that she loved and raised as her own, Corey and Brandon (Cristin) Simons, step-grandchildren Makayah and Ruby (who never left her house without a full bag of candy), childhood friend, Bonnie Hott, close friends Chris “Chicken” Wehner, Sam Lamartina, Yvonne “Bonnie” Evans, and numerous acquaintances she made into family.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Glen Simons, her brother, Shawn Jenkins, and her beloved husky babies Kane, Sugar bear, Dutch, Mitzi Sue, and Mookie.

The family will organize a memorial service in Luray, VA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Maureen’s name can be made to Husky Education And Rescue Team (HEART)
