Mrs. Patricia Anne Wilhelm, age 85, of Westminster Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, February 12, 2025. She was born January 9, 1940, in Akron Ohio, the youngest daughter of the late Harold and Clella Casteel.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Asey Hart Wilhelm Jr.; her brother, John Casteel; her sister, Wynona 'Winnie' Urbach; and her son-in-law, Gary Long.

Pat, as she was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, laughter, and art.

Although Pat spent much of her career in mortgage banking, she embraced her retirement years with passion, traveling, camping, boating, and crafting alongside her beloved husband. Her artistic talents knew no bounds—she created stunning quilts, tole paintings in her crafts and she was always drawn to the beauty of nature and color with her painting of landscapes in acrylics and watercolors.

A woman of deep empathy, Pat dedicated some of her time as a volunteer at Carroll Hospice-Dove House in Westminster, offering comfort and companionship to those in their final moments.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Long; her son, Jeffrey Wilhelm (Debra); and her cherished grandchildren, Benjamin Long (Amy), Joshua Long, Jesse Long, Jorden Wilhelm, and Kyle Wilhelm. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Angel, Ryleigh, Noah, Connor, Brielle and Leven, who will carry forward her love and warmth.

Patricia's legacy of kindness and creativity will forever live on through the memories she leaves behind. Her warmth, generosity, and artistic spirit touched the hearts of many, and her love for her family was unwavering.

A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to Carroll Hospice-Dove House in Westminster Maryland.

May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved husband and family who have gone before her.
