Paul Clarence Lizura Obituary

Paul Clarence Lizura, Jr., 74, of Westminster, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 surrounded by his family. Born January 9, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Paul Clarence Lizura and Jean Norine Beauchamp Lizura.  He was the loving husband of 20 years to Linda Carol Lizura.

He served in the Marine Corp. during Vietnam with search and rescue.  Paul and Linda had a daycare center they ran together for 16 years, serving many of local families.

Paul enjoyed dancing, vacationing in The Smokey Mountains and the Outer Banks, being outside and loved talking to everyone.  He was a life member of The American Legion Post No. 31.  He was a mentor to young Marines and also helped Marines who were suffering from PTSD.

He is survived by his children Paul Christopher Lizura, Patrick Lizura and Ryan P. Lizura, Jodi Scott, Teresa Fernandez, Melissa Kirby and step-son Keith Stoner and family; siblings Carol Cartmill, Bonnie Nelson, Linda Tomchich, Mary Ann Murphy-Wilson; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by siblings Jean Orosz, Mark Lizura and Bruce Lizura.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St, Westminster. A memorial service will begin at 4:00 p.m. with Chaplain Susan Donham officiating.

A private interment will be at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
